Yakuba Gowon

Yakuba Gowon (b 1934), full name Yakubu Dan-Yumma 'Jack' Gowon, is a Nigerian political leader was an army general who took over government and became president in 1966. He was a leader during bloody Biafran war, in which Ibo people sought independence from Nigeria. He was deposed in 1975.
