Zacoccia

Zacoccia was king of Mozambique. He, according to the Lusiad, received Vasco da Gama in 1498 with welcome, believing him to be a Mohammedan. However, after discovering that Gama was a Christian, he was filled with bitterest hatred to him. He tried to allure him to his ruin, but failed. In his despair he took away his own life.
