Samajwadi Party national president, Mulayam Singh Yadav, aka Netaji, is very critical of his chief minister son Akhilesh Yadav and his government.
Mulayam never misses the opportunity to criticise his own son and his ministers and bureaucrats on public platforms, whether it be a party function or government programme.
Recently, Mulayam Singh Yadav refused to get up for the foundation laying ceremony at his own constituency and said that he was only interested in the inauguration, that too in a time-bound manner.
Mulayam Singh Yadav has been very critical of his party ministers for not coming out from their comfort zones and moving in the field to interact with the general public. He warned that all those ministers who were not coming out of their office would not return in 2017 elections. He said that a large number of party leaders and workers were busy minting money through “thana politics”.
Now senior cabinet minister, younger brother of Mulayam, Shivpal Yadav who is virtually the number two in the government, openly criticised his nephew, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav.
During the function of irrigation department held at the official residence of the chief minister, Shivpal Singh Yadav came out with scathing indictment of the government departments directly controlled by Akhlesh Yadav.
Shivpal said that had he taken action against the officers for laxity in work or corruption, then they would approach the chief minister and feed him wrong information.
Irrigation minister complained that government departments like finance and forest were creating more problems in irrigation work. The fact remains that finance and forest are controlled by chief minister Akhilesh Yadav.
Shivpal Yadav complained that IAS officers were also creating problems in the work being carried out by the departments under his control. He further said that several officers were mostly going to Delhi for trips abroad but they should look into the interest of the state as well.
Shivpal warned the engineers they should concentrate on work or be prepared to face punishment, which could even include jail term.
On the other hand, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav replied to his uncle that he had learnt how to govern and would soon tighten the nuts and bolts of his bureaucracy, becoming stricter with the officers including engineers and IAS officers.
It would be worth mentioning here that when Samajwadi Party came to power in 2012, Mulayam Singh Yadav had tough time in persuading Shivpal and Azam khan to accept Akhilesh Yadav as chief minister. Since then Akhilesh Yadav has never interferes in their departments. (IPA Service)
