There have been series of large scale communion riots as well as low level riots in UP during last three years.
Religiously biased forces have succeeded in converting small incidents of eve-teasing or drinking brawl or motor-cycle accidents into to communal riots.
Despite the assurances given by Akhilesh Yadav during elections campaign in 2012 assembly polls or by Mr Narendra Modi in 2014 Lok Sabha polls no new new jobs have been created by BJP government at the centre or Samajwadi Party government in the state.
The sad commentary on growing unemployment in UP was exposed when several lakhs applications were sent in for a few hundred jobs against the post of state government peons. What was unnerving is that highly qualified persons with degree of Ph.D and MBA also applied.
The unrest in farmers, who constitute 80 percent of total population in the state, is reflected farmers agitation by BKU from time to time. Failure of the government to address their problems resulted in large-scale suicides in recent years.
Despite the categorical order from Supreme Court, the Akhilesh Yadav government could not force the private sugarcane mill owners to pay arrears to farmers running to the tune of several thousand crores.
If this was not enough, the entire population of the state is suffering due to phenomenal price rise of essential commodities. Now people are cursing the “achche din” slogan of BJP during the campaign.
There is blame game in UP for communal riots in UP. The ruling Samajwadi Party and BJP are holding each other responsible for communalising the situation leading to riots.
So much so Samajwadi Party national president Mulayam Singh Yadav and his chief minister son Akhilesh Yadav have openly pointed fingers at the BJP for engineering communal violence in the state.
Similarly, BJP national president Amit Shah and state president Luxmikant Vajpai openly blamed Samajwadi Party government for deterioration in communal situation in the state.
Significantly, Justice Vishnu Sahay commission inquiry report on Muzaffarnagar riots is out and with Governor to be tabled in UP legislature. The Akhilesh Yadav government should make the report public and take action against culprits. It would be worth mentioning here that during Muzaffarnagar communal riots more than 60 persons had been killed and several women were raped.
SP national president Mulayam Singh Yadav also revealed that he was aware that three persons who were involved in Muzaffarnagar riots were also linked with Dadri incident. Now the time has come that he should disclose the names.
Communal forces are active in the state and they take up issue of love jihad, ghar vapsi and now beef meat or cow slaughter as happened in Dadri where innocent person like Akhlaq was killed on the basis of rumors only by the militant mob.
Political analysts opine that the outcome of Bihar assembly polls will set the political agenda for 2017 assembly polls. (IPA)

HOW RIOTS DIVERT ATTENTION FROM FARMERS ISSUES
STIRRING THE COMMUNAL POT IN UP BENEFITS PARTIES

LUCKNOW: Are the political parties instigating communal riots to divert attention of people from basic issues? Why are issues such as price rise, growing unemployment and unrest among farmers due to non-payment of sugarcane arrears and disillusionment from Land Acquisition Bill not getting enough television and media coverage since the Dadri incident?
