The opening day will see the Men's Free Style wrestlers fighting in all the ten categories led by Under-23 World Championship silver medallist Ravinder representing Services'.

The Nationals will also witness some strong rivalries this year. In the 74 kg the most sought after bouts are expected between last year’s gold medallist and former Asian Champion Amit Dhankar, Junior Asian Champion Sachin Rathee who is representing services, current under-23 National champion Uttar Pradesh's Gourav Baliyan and the seasoned wrestler from Railways', Parveen Rana.

In the 79 kg category a two way rivelry is expected between former Junior World Championship Bronze medallist Veer Dev Gulia and Railways’ Jitender as both aim for a golden finish. And, in the 97 kg category, Railways’ Satyawart Kadian will be looking to avenge his last year’s final defeat against Haryana’s Mousam Khatri.

Day 2 will see top women wrestlers take the matt. The field in the women’s competition too will see some stiff competitions as India’s best bet for a wrestling medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Vinesh Phogat (55 kg), Rio bronze medallist Sakshi Malik (62 kg), promising Divya Kakran (68 kg), Seema Bisla (50 kg), Sarita More (57 kg) and Navjot Kaur (65 kg) will compete to make an impact. And on the third and final day the Greco-Roman wrestlers will be in action.

The wrestlers who win gold medal in the 7 categories (Men's Freestyle- 57, 61, 65, 74, 86, 97, 125; Women's Wrestling- 50, 53, 57, 59, 62, 68, 76)at the Senior Nationals will earn confirm berth for the upcoming South Asian Games slated to take place from December 6-9, 2019.
