Priyanka Gandhi risked her security and went on scooty to meet the family of former IG Police Mr SR Darapuri who was arrested from his home. It was worth mentioning here that local police tried it's level best to stop Priyanka from meeting Darapuri family. Again she took the initiative to meet the children of Congress leader Sadaf Jaffar who was arrested while she was doing live from her mobile during December 19 protests against CAA.

Unlike Akhilesh and Mayawati who preferred remain indoors, Priyanka Gandhi herself led the march of her party against alleged police atrocities during protests. Priyanka collected the evidences including Videos to show police atrocities in Kanpur, muzaffarnagar and other places and submitted to UP Governor Anandibai Patel. She held the press conference in Lucknow in which she launched attack on Yogi government for alleged atrocities and deterioration in law and order.

It was only after Priyanka Gandhi took the initiative of launching attack on Yogi Government, SP President and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav sent his party MLAs to take out cycle Yatra in their constituency. Unnerved by the aggressive posture of Priyanka Gandhi, BSP leader Mayawati issued press note and tweets against police atrocities in the state during the large scale protest against CAA.

Mayawati is also worried with the possible erosion of her vote bank to Bheem Sena whose president Chandra Shekhar Ravan successfully staged protest against CAA at Jana Masjid Delhi. Apprehending threat of losing ground Mayawati launched the attack on Bheem Sena chief Chandra Shekhar Ravan for staging protest outside UP to influence members of scheduled castes and scheduled tribe of UP.

Targeting Priyanka Gandhi Mayawati asked as why she was not going to Kota where children died in hospital due to negligence as she did in UP where she visited homes of those who suffered due to police atrocities.

It may be noted that it was only after Priyanka Gandhi decided to rush to meet the family of rape victim in Unnao that Akhilesh Yadav rushed with two leaders to stage dharna in front of Vidhan Bhawan and Mayawati also hurriedly visited Raj Bhawan to submit memorandum to Governor Anandi Patel. Later on Akhilesh Yadav also visited Unnao to meet the family of victim.

But the fact remains that with her initiatives and aggression, Priyanka Gandhi remains in media limelight and gaining ground in people's mind also. Priyanka is working working very hard to strengthen the party organisation at grass-root level. That is why she is depending on relatively unknown party executive but committed to fight on ground level.

But at the same she is facing challenge from old guards who are feeling neglected under her leadership. Priyanka Gandhi's action to expel over a dozen veteran leaders who had been Ministers, MPs and MLAs is not being appreciated in the party leaders. There is a general feelings that veterans should also be given space in advisory capacity while younger generation be given task to galvanise the party to take up the challenge.
