Twenty tribal groups across India will participate in the daylong festival. Mr Rajeev Ranjan, Joint Commissioner of Delhi Police will inaugurate the Festival at 11 am on Sunday.

According to Norris Pritam, Chairman, Programme and Tribal Committee of the New Delhi YMCA, "a tribal fashion added this year would be the main attraction of the festival.’’

"Our effort has been to have greater number of participants and now we aim to add international participation next year,’’ he said.

In the Fashion show the main focus would be on the traditional attire of the participants. Twenty pair of a boy and a girl would walk on the ramp in their authentic traditional dresses. Participants taking part in the fashion are from diverse tribes such as Kharia, Munda, Santhal, Gorkha, Thadou and Zelliangrong etc.

Besides showcasing their traditional music and dance, the participants would also put up stalls selling traditional food for their respective tribes.

According to Mr Jovial Vaghela, President of the New Delhi YMCA, "this festival is our commitment to largely ignored tribal community.’’

Entry to the Festival and the Fashion is free.
