The State has been advised to expedite the creation of a buffer zone around the core/critical tiger habitat of Corbett Tiger Reserve for needful action vis-Ã -vis the provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Environment and Forests (independent charge) Shri Jairam Ramesh in a written reply to a question by Shri. Anand Prakash Paranjpe in Lok Sabha today.

New Delhi: Unhindered commercial activities around Corbett National Park is posing a serious threat to the eco-fragile zone, while obstructing movement of wild animals. This has been brought out in a recent survey conducted by the Ministry of Tourism.
