There is no doubt Samajwadi Party succeeded in mobilising party workers and cadres who hit roads with cycle yatra to focus on anti farmers laws, deterioration in law and order, unemployment, inflation and mishandling during pandemic. The massive mobilisation of Samajwadi Party cycle yatra was similar to 2016 when Akhilesh Yatra launched campaign for assembly elections for 2017.
An upbeat Akhilesh Yadav said that people were so upset with BJP government in the state that his party would get 400 seat, more than he anticipated. Samajwadi Party national President Akhilesh Yadav said it would be difficult for BJP to find even candidates.
The successful cycle yatra will help Samajwadi Party in mobilising support of minority community which by and large voted for Mulayam Singh Yadav and his party from days when he ordered firing on karsevaks to protect Babri Masjid.
At a time when BSP and BJP are playing Brahmin card to woo this powerful community, Akhilesh Yadav also sent positive messages with the selection of day to launch the campaign. Smaller parties and various caste groups looking toward Akhilesh Yadav to take initiative to form rainbow coalition, also got the boost with this cycle yatra.
Akhilesh has already formed alliance with Mahan Dal and RLD of Jayant Choudhry and prepared to leave one or two assembly seats for estranged uncle Shivpal Yadav. He is in touch with other parties as well.
With his bad experience in the past with Congress and BSP, he made it clear that Samajwadi Party would not have any alliance with any national party. During last few months Akhilesh Yadav spent lot of time in strengthening the party organisation from grassroot to district level.
Akhilesh Yadav sent messages to his party leaders and workers that he would not tolerate nonperforming districts office bearers and removed all those district presidents where his candidates lost in panchayat polls.
The success of cycle yatra would help Samajwadi Party in general and Akhilesh Yadav in particular to sustain this tempo till Assembly polls with such events all over the state.
It would be would worth mentioning here that Samajwadi Party captured the power on its own when Akhilesh toured through his rath yatra and cycle yatra before 2012 assembly polls. Will Akhilesh Yadav be able to repeat performance of 2012, only time will tell. (IPA Service)

LUCKNOW: The mega success of cycle yatra of Samajwadi Party has boosted the moral of the party leaders and workers who waited so long for this event. With his cycle yatra Akhilesh Yadav cleverly played the Brahmin card as it was deliberately organised on the birth anniversary of late Samajwadi Party leader Janeshwar Mishra known as Mini Lohia.
