Apart from Dilpreet who scored in the 12th, 22nd, and 44th minutes, other goal-getters were Jarmanpreet Singh (31', 43'), Lalit Upadhyay (29'), Akashdeep Singh (54'), Mandeep Mor (55'), and Harmanpreet Singh (57').

Putting behind their tentative display against South Korea in the opener on Tuesday which ended in a 2-2 draw, the Indians started on a very aggressive note and forced eight penalty corners in the first quarter but the Bangladeshi defenders were brilliant in stoutly clearing these attempts especially their first rushers doing a fine job to keep India from taking an early lead.

Dilpreet Singh, broke the deadlock in the 12th minute, with a good assist by Skipper Manpreet Singh he sent the ball home (1-0 ) . Dilpreet doubled the lead in the 22nd minute and Lalit scored from a fine deflection via Harmanpreet's drag-flick to take India's tally to 3-0 at half-time.

There was no let-up Indian pressure on the rivals as the second session opened. The defending champions took control of the midfield and the hosts withdrew from the half to crowd their defense.

The repeated attacks fetched India penalty corners in the third quarter and they converted two of them to take their tally to 5-0. Jarmanpreet with the help of Harmanprret scored two goals off penalty corners, while Dilpreet scored the third goal in the 44th minute to increase the lead to 6-0.

In the last quarter, the Indians showed no mercy and pumped in three more goals seal the victory with nine goals.

India overwhelmed their rival's in this match with 16 shots on goal and 25 circle entries.

"It was a good effort from the team and we tried different variations in this match which we had been working on during our training,” said Manpreet Singh after the match.

“I feel at the start, we couldn't convert as Bangladesh had put up a very strong PC defense. But at half-time, Coach Graham provided important inputs on how we could improvise our attack, and as you all could see we improvised as the match progressed."

"We will go back and further analyze today's and yesterday's game (against Korea) and find ways to come up with a much better performance against Pakistan," he added.
