The MOU was signed between Finance Secretary, Shri Ashok Chawla and Chairman and Managing Director of SPMCIL, Shri M.S. Rana. It is based on the premise of a growth charter in a globally competitive environment and forward looking approach of SPMCIL and incorporates new parameters for evaluation of performance with focus on profitability, new schemes, market & product diversification as well as optimization of its various resources.
Apart from meeting the national requirement of the currency and coinage, SPMCIL has started looking for export business in the currency and coinage. In 2009-10, SPMCIL has bagged export orders for printing Nepalese Bank Notes of Rs.100/- and Rs.10/- denominations through Global Tender Process. SPMCIL is also pre-qualified along with eight International Security Printing/Minting Companies for minting and supply of Nepalese Circulation coins. India Security Press (ISP), Nashik, a unit of the Company, has signed an MoU with Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for printing and supply of security features based admission tickets for its various monuments throughout the country.

New Delhi: Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL), a Mini-Ratna enterprise of the Government of India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Ministry of Finance. The agreement sets an ambitious business target of Rs. 2750 crores for the fiscal 2010-11, aiming at an increase of about 10% over 2009-10 targets. This is over and above already high base established by SPMCIL by achieving consistently significant growth in its turnover for last three years since 2007-08.
