Democracy is people coming together and forming parties. Parties campaigning for people to come out and vote. And choose one of them or a group of them in alliance to fight elections for the spoils of democracy, which has an ugly side and a mythical 'do good' side.
The ‘Good, Bad & the Ugly!’ Which of the trio is AAP, the Congress and the BJP, which is ‘Bad’; which is ‘Ugly’ and which is ‘Good’? The Congress brought out a ‘White Paper’ to charge both the AAP, and the BJP, with deceiving the people. The 12-point ‘White Paper’ lined up both the BJP and the AAP for their unkept promises and their inability to manage pollution, civic facilities, and law & order.
Delhi Congress leader Ajay Maken picked on ousted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, stating that the Congress made a mistake supporting AAP in 2013. “Where’s the Janlokpal in Delhi and Punjab?” he asked even as news trickled in that the AAP had petitioned the INDIA Bloc to throw the Congress out of the alliance, which was formed to rid India of Prime Minister Narendra Modi—the original ‘Ugly’.
Maken’s 12-point ‘White Paper’ is full of the black deeds of the AAP under Arvind Kejriwal and of the black deeds of the BJP under Amit Shah and Narendra Modi. And Maken gave a new moniker to Arvind Kejriwal: "If there is one word to describe former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal here then it would be Farziwal," he said while releasing the White Paper called "Mauka Mauka, Har Baar Dhoka."
“If anyone is the king of fraud in the entire country then it is Arvind Kejriwal,” Maken added not satisfied with blasting Kejriwal. Does the Congress think it is a battle between the Congress and the AAP and the BJP is just an interloper? Isn't Kejriwal going into the next Delhi elections, his wings clipped after time behind bars?
Will Kejriwal even qualify to become Chief Minister if the AAP somehow wins the majority? Can somebody out on bail become Chief Minister? Wasn’t Kejriwal compelled to quit by the Supreme Court? Kejriwal is acting and behaving like a Chief Minister-in-waiting while Atishi isn't even pretending to be Chief Minister. This Delhi election is also being fought in Kejriwal's name.
And to add to the Atishi mystery, Kejriwal is insisting that “Modi’s central investigating agencies” will arrest Delhi Chief Minister Atishi before the Delhi elections are notified. Atishi thinks this a joke but hadn't Kejriwal predicted his own arrest as well as that of Manish Sisodia? Would Kejriwal be satisfied if Atishi is arrested? If anybody is 'Kattar Imaandar", it is Delhi Chief Minister for now Atishi.
The BJP’s diatribe against AAP, Atishi and Arvind Kejriwal was over the “notices issued by two Delhi government departments”, which allegedly cracked “Atishi’s lies” wide-open. One of them pertaining to Rs 2,100 dole under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana. And the other about free treatment for the elderly under the Delhi government’s Sanjeevani Yojana.
The BJP called them “political fraud” and challenged Chief Minister Atishi to “show proof”. Atishi had said the schemes had been notified. The BJP said they were fake and that there was “still time for Kejriwal to apologise to Delhi’s public.” The fact is, the pronouncements made so far haven’t made sense so far.
The BJP and the AAP are forever dismissing the Congress and the Congress, on its part, is forever playing spoilsport. Kejriwal is fighting his own image of “Kattar Imaandar” gone astray. Is Kejriwal “duping” Delhi’s women and the elderly? Are free treatment for the elderly and the Rs 2100 dole to women fraud schemes? Were women voters of Punjab similarly lied to?
The Rs 2100 dole could be a deception and false promise. But Kejriwal and Chief Minister Atishi have faith in the success of such schemes in elections. Didn’t the promise of free water and power pass the test in earlier Delhi elections? The Youth Congress has filed a police complaint against Arvind Kejriwal. Combined with the 12-point White Paper, the Congress is not giving AAP any respite.
The upcoming Delhi assembly elections is mired in hotch-potch. There are illegal Bangladeshi aliens with manufactured Aadhaar and voter-cards. There are also Rohingya infiltrators allegedly gifted with Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana homes by the Modi government; and then there is the BJP-inspired Lt. Guv ordering a police drive to identify and prevent alien infiltrators from voting in the elections. All this only happens when elections come home to roost! (IPA Service)
THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY IN THE DELHI ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS
CONGRESS, AAP, BJP JOSTLE FOR SUPREMACY IN RUN-UP TO STATE POLLS

Three political parties. Three sets of politicians. All three fighting for control of the warren called Delhi. Biting, sniping and snapping at each other's heels. Calling each other names. Enticing, inducing and bribing the voters with 'schemes'. Lying and casting aspersions at each other, this is democracy at play.
