The Finance Minister proposed to increase the total allocation under RKVY from Rs 6,755 crore in 2010-11 to Rs.7,860 crore in 2011-12.
Shri Mukherjee also mentioned that in the Budget for 2010-11 a four-pronged strategy covering agricultural production, reduction in wastage of produce, credit support to farmers and a thrust to food processing sector was announced. The same had started showing results, he added.

New Delhi: The Finance Minister, Shri Pranab Mukherjee while presenting the Union Budget for 2011-12 announced in the Lok Sabha today to further strengthen the on-going Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) and to focus on the removal of production and distribution bottlenecks for fruit, vegetables and poultry products.
