Much significance is being attached to the public meeting of Mulayam Singh Yadav in Etah where he is expected to attack Congress, BSP and BJP.

The political observers feel that Mulayam Singh Yadav will reply to the attack made by AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi in his speech in Allahabad on November 14 when he launched party’s campaign for Mission 2012.

Former chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav will have the company of Mohd Azam Khan and Prof Ram Gopal Yadav in the Etah public meeting. The spokesman of SP, informed that this would be first public rally where Mulayam and Azam Khan would be together to address ever since Khan returned to fold. He further informed that the venue of the public meeting Ramlila ground is full of holding and banners and postings.

All the candidates from Etah and neighboring areas are working very hard to make the public meeting a grand affair. The public meeting is being considered as show of strength by Samajwadi Party.

Meanwhile SP state president Akhilesh Yadav who is leading Samajwadi Kranti Rath Yatra supported the demonstration by party workers before AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi in Allahabad on November 14.

It would be worth mentioning here that SP workers had demonstrated with black flags before Rahul Gandhi on his arrival in Allahabad to address public meeting.

Akhilesh Yadav said that those involved in the showing of black flags to Rahul Gandhi were students belonging to Samajwadi Party and their anger against Congress government to put ban on students’ union was justified. He, however, said that the manner in which black flags were shown to Rahul Gandhi was not right which could be discussed later on. He said there was need for launching agitation to oppose the ban on students union.

In order to put Congress in tight corner, Akhilesh Yadav announced that his party’s government in UP would implement Sachchar committee recommendations. Terming the BSP as anti-Muslim, the SP state president said that SP government had made the provisions for 4 per cent reservations for Muslims which was scrapped by BSP government.

While addressing from his Samajwadi Kranti Rath in Maharajganj in eastern UP, Akhilesh Yadav was also critical of Brahmin conference of BSP supremo Mayawati recently in Lucknow. Terming the Brahmin conference as bogus, he said that BSP government had done nothing for Brahmins. He further said maximum numbers of Brahmins were sent to jail by BSP government. And so many Brahmin ministers were sacked by chief minister Mayawati.

Talking about Mayawati’s move to divide the state into four parts, Akhilesh Yadav said that his party was not opposed to division but wanted proper development before undertaking the division of the state. (IPA)
