The Special Envoy of the Pakistan Prime Minister, Ambassador Shahryar Khan on Friday met the Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh at his official residence here on Friday and handed over a letter from his country’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif containing warm expressions of goodwill and good wishes.

According to Pakistan High Commission in Delhi the letter contains “warm expressions of goodwill and good wishes for Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Government and people of India as well as conveying Pakistan’s sincere desire to move forward on improving relations with India.”

The Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh warmly reciprocated the gesture of Nawaz Sharif.

Khan arrived in India on July 4 and will be in the country till July 6.

During this visit to India, Ambassador Shahryar Khan also called on the Indian External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid and the National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon, his counterpart (Indian PM’s Special Envoy) Satinder Lambah and Indian Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai.
