At present, there are 1,27,700 polling booths in UP and no political party is willing to leave even a single polling outpost unattended.
BJP national general secretary and in-charge of UP has already given call to party workers ‘to capture the polling booths’.
Amit Shah unfolded his strategy to senior BJP leaders and asked each active BJP worker should adopt one polling booth and form teams that should visit them and identify local issues bothering voters.
As a part of the plan, Amit Shah directed party workers to make ‘shakti kendra’ (power centre) on every fifth polling booth, from where the team would spread the message of party’s ideology and good work done during BJP regime in the state.
All active members of BJP have been asked to ensure that party candidates win at their respective polling booths.
The BJP has also announced incentives to party workers to ensure victory so that all the party workers are rewarded for their hard work.
Senior BJP leader Ram Nath Kovid said that all party workers who would ensure victory of party candidates in their booth would also be felicitated.
Another major political party Congress, also, has started preparations for mission 2014 through strengthening the polling booths.
UPCC President Nirmal Khattri and former UPCC president Rita Bahuguna Joshi also recently reviewed the arrangement for booth level party set up.
It would be worth mentioning here that Congress national general secretary and in-charge of UP, Madhusudhan Mistry during his visit to various parts of the state has been saying party workers to strengthen at booth level.
Ruling Samajwadi Party has also realised the importance of booth level set up and that is why Mulayam Singh Yadav and chief minister Akhilesh Yadav have repeatedly given calls to party leaders and workers to concentrate at grass root levels.
On the other hand, the Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati has directed party leaders to train party cadre and workers to ensure party victory at booth levels.
Political analyst Surendra Rajput says that for the first time political parties are so serious about booth management as Mission 2014 is very crucial for all the leaders who are serious claimants for the coveted post of the prime minister. (IPA)
