Bayeux Tapestry
Bayeux Tapestry was an English embroidery of medieval times that tells the story of the Norman Conquest. It was made between 1066 and 1077, however, it is still a question whose work it was. It is 214 ft. long by 20 in. wide, divided into 72 scenes, and contains a variety of figures. It contains representations of events connected with the Norman invasion of England, commencing with Harold's visit to the Norman court, and ending with his death at the battle of Hastings. The tapestry is still preserved in the public library of Bayeux, and is so called because originally found there.
