Abbé Suger
Abbé Suger (1082-1152) was a French abbot of St. Denis, minister of Louis VI and Louis VII. He reformed the discipline in his abbey, emancipated the serfs connected with it, maintained the authority of the king against the great vassals. He was regent of the kingdom during the second Crusade, and earned the title of Father of his Country. He wrote a Life of Louis VI.Nearby pages
