Abomasum

Abomasum, also known as the maw, rennet-bag, or reed tripe, is a zoological term for the fourth stomach or compartment of a ruminant.

Abomasum receives food from the omasum and passes it to the small intestine. It secretes rennet, digests food chemically by way of chemical breakdown of food.
