Abu Bakr

Abu Bakr (c.580-634) was a companion and father-in-law to the Prophet Muhammad and first caliph of Islam. He was one of the first converts to Islam who was elected khalifat rasul Allah, that is the successor of the messenger of god, to become first caliph of Islam and leader of the Muslim community upon Muhammad’s death.

  • Be just : the unjust never prosper. Be valiant : die rather than yield. Be merciful : slay neither old men, children, nor women. Destroy neither fruit trees, grain, nor cattle. Keep your word, even to your enemies.
