Abul Ala Al'Ma'arri

Abul Ala Al'Ma'arri (973-1057) was an Arab poet and ascetic. He wrote on subjects like life, death, philosophy, religion, society etc. Though he became blind at an early age, he managed to complete education, and became a great scholar. He is best known for his work Meditation.
