Acid reflux

Acid reflux is a medical condition that is characterised by regurgitation of gastric acid. Vomiting is its one of the common symptoms.

It is caused by a condition in which lower esophageal sphincter allows the acids formed in the stomach to go up in the reverse direction.

It happens when the lower esophageal sphincter, that normally acts as a valve and closes after the food passes through it into the stomach, doesn't close all the way or if it opens too often.

Ignoring this problem is not advised.
