Adhirath

Adhirath was the name of a charioteer, the foster-father of Karn, whose name figures in the Mahabharata, an epic composed by sage Vyas. As per the story told in the epic, Adhirath found a baby boy in a basket on the banks of the Ganges. He had no child, and therefore, he and his wife Radha happily adopted the child as their own. The child was known as Karn.
