Affirmative action

Affirmative action is an action that is intended to help improve the condition of the people suffering from discrimination. Such an action is also called positive discrimination which involves giving certain advantages to the discriminated ones, especially in education, employment and political system.

Reservation policy for Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes in India is such an affirmative action.
