Ajit Kumar Mitra

Ajit Kumar Mitra was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. He was born in 1910 in Calcutta. He was son of a businessman Probodh Chandra Mitra. At the age of 18, he came in contact with the Yugantar Party. He was a diploma holder of Society of Engineers ( India). He was arrested in Calcutta with Arms, and consequently sentenced by the special Magistrate to 10 years imprisonment on 31.01.1934. Thereafter, he was deported to the Cellular jail, Andamans. He Joined the second hunger strike there. He was released in 1939. His total jail period was more than 5 years.
