Albinism

Albinism is a congenital disorder of absence of pigmentation in the skin and hair of a person or animal. Someone suffering from this disorder is called an albino. Their hairs and skin become white and the eyes typically pink.

The word is derived from 'albinos', a word which originally applied to persons among African blacks suffering from this disorder.
