Alfred Adler

Alfred Adler (1870-1937) was an Austrian psychologist and psychiatrist. He is known for introducing the concept of the inferiority complex. He called his psychology "Individual Psychology".

He was in disagreement with Freud's idea of sexual conflicts in infancy as the cause of mental illness by arguing that society and culture were significant factors.
