Alfred Austin
Alfred Austin (1835 - 1913) was an English poet and writer. He became poet-laureate in succession to Tennyson, born near Leeds. He was bred for the bar, but became a journalist, and later devoted to literature. He wrote "The Golden Age, a Satire," "Savonarola," "English Lyrics," and several works in prose.Nearby pages
