Amalendu Bagchi

Amalendu Bagchi was a feedom fighter of India. He was born on 1st of May 1907 at Rajshahi ( Bangladesh) s/o/ Late Bata Krishna Bagchi. He joined Anusheelan Samity in 1921. British forces arrested him in September, 1931, in connection with Putia postal Mail Action. District Rajshahi along with Bijan Sen, and subsequently sentenced for 7 years of rigorous imprisonment and thereafter deported to Andamans. He joined 2 Hunger strikes there in Cellular Jail., 1933 of 45 days and 1937 of 37 days. He was finally repatriated in 1937, and released in 1938. His total jail period was about 7 years.
