Ambika, according to the Mahabharat was the second daughter of the king of Kashi. She, along with her two other sisters, was abducted by Bhishma to be wife of Vichitravirya.

She became mother of Dhritrashtra by the help of sage Vyas.

She became widow after the death of Vichitravirya.

According to Indian mythology, Ambika is one of the name of the goddess Durga.
