Americium

Americium is an element, which derives its name from America, where it was first made by bombarding neutrons on plutonium in the 1940s. Its symbol is Am and atomic number is 95. It is a radioactive metal of the actinide series of the periodic table. This metal is not found in nature, but is produced.
