Amplitude

Amplitude is a term in physics which refers to the maximum extent of vibration or oscillation from equilibrium. In electricity, it is the maximum difference of an alternating electrical current from the average value.

In mathematics, it is the angle between the real axis of an Argand diagram and a vector representing a complex number. In astronomy, it is the angular distance of a celestial object from the true east or west point of the horizon at rising or setting.
