Anant

Anant, in Hindu mythology, is one of the names of Vishnu. He is said to be Dikpal of the downward direction. Vishnu's conch-shell is also known as Anant, and also one of the names of Shesh, which he is depicted sleeping on, and who is one of the serpents living under the earth. Vasuki, the lord of the serpents there is also known as Anant.

Krishna and his brother Balram are also sometimes referred as Anant.

According to some other sacred Hindu mythological texts, Anant is also one of the names of Shiv.
