Aneurin Bevan

Aneurin Bevan (1897 - 1960), also Nye Bevan, was a Welsh Labour Party politician. He is regarded as one of the most influential left-wing politicians in British history. He is noted for his tenure as Minister of Health in Clement Attlee's government and spearheading the creation of the British National Health Service. He also contributed to the founding of the British welfare state.
