Anjana, according to Indian mythology, was daughter of monkey-chief Kunjar.
She was married to Kesri.
As per the story, this Anjana, was no one but an Apsara Punjiksthala, who had to take birth in the Vanar (monkey) race due to a curse.
Anjana was capable of changing her form. She, once took form of a human being. She looked so beautiful that Vayu enamoured of her look and begot on her a son in a cave. see Anjan Gufa.
It was this son who is known as Hanuman.
