Antipodes

Antipodes, literally having feet opposite to each other, originally referred to the people inhabiting the opposite site of the earth. Later, the places where they lived were referred as antipodes, such as the inhabitants of the northern hemisphere refer Australia and New Zealand as antipodes. The meaning has even extended to refer something or someone direct opposite of someone or something.
