Appomattox

Appomattox is a village in Virginia in the United States that is famous as a historic site. The village is situated a in central Virginia at the head of the Appomattox River. It is the place where General Robert E Lee had surrendered to General Grant in April 1865. General Lee's surrender of his Confederate forces ended the Civil War in the US.
