Arena

Arena, originally a sand, or sand-strewn place of combat, is now a name given to a level area for sports, entertainment, and other public events. It is typically surrounded by seats for spectators. The word is used also for any other place or scene of activity, debate, or conflict, such as the political arena, arena of bloody battles etc.
