Auber

Auber (1782-1871), full name Daniel-François-Esprit Auber, also known as Daniel Auber, was a popular French composer of operas, born at Caen. He was also director of the Conservatoire de Paris (Paris Conservatoire), a college of music and dance founded in 1795. His operas included "La Muette de Portici," "Le Domino Noir," "Fra Diavolo," &c.
