Austral

Austral is something of or relating to Australia or Australasia. As a technical term, it denotes something of the southern hemisphere. Anything of or relating to the south is also called austral, since australis in Latin is derived from Auster, literally the south or the south wind. That is why we have expressions like the austral spring, or austral wind etc.
