Australasia

Australasia is a name given to the region consisting of Australia, New Zealand, New Guinea, and the adjoining islands of the Pacific Ocean. The term Australasia is formed by combining austral, literally southern, and Asia, and therefore Australasia is sometimes referred to as Southern Asia.
