Avoidance relationship

Avoidance relationship is a familial relationship that is forbidden by the traditional rules of a society, such as between a married woman and the elder brother of her husband in some Indian societies, or mothers-in-law and sons-in-law is Australian Aboriginal society, who may not meet face to face or speak directly with one another, as per the rules of their traditions.
