Baisakhi

Baisakhi is a Hindu festival held annually. It derives its name from Sanskrit Vaisakh, the second month of the Hindu lunar year. The corresponding month in Gregorian calendar is April-May. For some communities, the new year begins form Baisakhi festival.

Baisakhi is one of the most important festivals of Sikhs. A special ceremony is held annually on this day to commemorate the founding of the Khalsa by Guru Govind Singh in 1699.
