Barbie

Barbie, as an informal term, is a short form of barbecue. It is also a short form of Barbie doll, a diminutive of the given name Barbara in the 1950s. This trademarked doll represents a conventionally attractive young woman. Informally, a woman attractive in a glossily artificial way is also called barbie, typically an unintelligent and characterless one.
