Barnacle goose

Barnacle goose is a goose belonging to the family Anatidae. It has white face and black neck. It breeds in the arctic tundra of Greenland and northern Europe. Since its breeding grounds were long unknown, it was formerly believed to hatch from the shell of the crustacean called barnacle, and hence its name. Its zoological name is Branta leucopsis.
