Baron de Breteuil

Baron de Breteuil (1730-1807), also Baron de Preuilly, full name Louis Charles Auguste Le Tonnelier, was a French aristocrat, diplomat and statesman. He was a secretary of king Louis XVI. In 1783, King Louis XVI appointed him as minister of the king's household (Maison du Roi). He was appointed as the minister under King Louis XVI in 1789, a hundred hours before the storming of the Bastille. After that he retired to private life near Hamburg before returning to France in 1802.
