Bartolommeo Eustachio

Bartolommeo Eustachio (b. 1500 or 1514 - d. 1574) was an Italian physician and anatomist, settled at Rome. He is known as one of the founders of the science of human anatomy. He made several anatomical discoveries, chief among others were those of the tube from the middle ear to the mouth, and a valve on the wall of the right auricle of the heart, both called Eustachian after him.
