Basque Provinces

Basque Provinces is an autonomous region, a fertile and mineral district in northern Spain, embracing the three provinces of Alava, Guipuzcoa, and Vizcaya on the Bay of Biscay. The chief towns of Biscaya, Guipuzcoa, and Alava, are respectively Bilbao, St Sebastian, and Vittoria. Vitoria is the capital of Basque Provinces. The natives differ considerably from the rest of the Spaniards in race, language, and customs.
