Beauvais

Beauvais is the capital city of the department of Oise, in France, 75 kilometres (47 miles) north of Paris and 34 miles southwest of Amiens. It is an ancient town, noted for its cathedral, its tapestry weaving, and the feat of Jeanne-Hachette and her female following when the town was besieged in 1472 by Charles the Bold.
