Bee-eater

Bee-eater is a bird. It is name so because it eats bees. This insectivorous bird is brightly coloured, typically with long central tail feathers. It has large head and a long down-curved bill. Three genera of this bird are found. Merops which includes the European bee-eater (Merops apiaster) is particularly famous. It belongs to the family Meropidae.
